[78-L] Contact person at Sony

The tunes were all based on bugle calls and the album came out when Silvers had the popular Bilko show, originally called "You'll Never Get Rich".

I won this record in a bet with a record store owner who didn't believe that Silvers had written the words for "Nancy with the Laughing Face".

And Silvers doesn't play on the album or even conduct it. Phil had a popular program at the time, so I guess they figured it would sell with only his tenuous connection..Jackie Gleason didn't conduct his albums either. 

 

I'm not coming up with anything over at DISMARC.ORG..maybe pop and jazz albums aren't listed there yet. The album number is Columbia CL 1011 if anyone has any other leads. My copy is still packed away. As for personnel, Lord lists the players thus:
