[78-L] Bunk Johnson in NOLA

While in New Orleans for the ARSC conference, I tracked down a building that may be the site of the old Grunewald's Music Store that was the site of Johnson's first session for Jazz Man in June 1942. It's a four-story building (the session was on the 3rd floor) on Baronne Street. The original address was 327 but this building's address is now 329. Had to have been the one since it's on a street corner and the address on the opposite side is 317. I took a photo of the building and compared it with a vintage one in the lobby of the Chateau Bourbon where the ARSC conference was being held. Not sure if they were the same building because the older picture had a two-digit address. It was labeled as being owned by the Grunewald family.

Also paid a visit to the glorious old Roosevelt Hotel, site of the March 1936 Decca sessions that produced the last recordings of Milton Brown and also Cajun and blues recordings. It still looks splendid. Apparently, it was renamed the Roosevelt after Katrina (it had been the Fairmont).

Nothing to indicate where they were recorded (or copied), no name on them, only plain white labels with the titles typed and the words "NON-BREAKABLE & NOISELESS / USE ONLY SAPPHIRE OR SHADOWGRAPHED STEEL NEEDLE" printed at the bottom. I have no idea if these are a well known British Trad Band, some Ken Colyer or other..all I can do is list the titles and see if anyone recognizes them in these combinations.
