[78-L] 1933 HMV Ellington Album

Mark Beresford is currently auctioning a copy of a 1933 HMV 10-inch 78 
Duke Ellington album. The cover looks reddish-orange with “His Master’s 
Voice” and “Duke Ellington Album” stamped into the cover.  Beneath the 
type is a cartoon drummer, also stamped into the cover. Otherwise, 
there is no cover art. Here are the particulars as provided by Mark.

1933 DUKE ELLINGTON HMV ALBUM - VERY RARE!! ARTIST AND ISSUE DETAILS:

Here's a great condition copy of the 1933 HMV 'Duke Ellington Album' 
issued in conjunction with his 1933 visit to Britain - a very rare 
item. Copies of the album were only available on subscription (17 
shillings and sixpence in 1933!) and only 1000 sets were produced! 
Titles are: Jazz Lips/Harlemania HMV B6351 (E-); Saratoga Swing/Sloppy 
Joe HMV B6352 (E but pressing crease at start light swish); Old Man 
Blues/Japanese Dream HMV B6353 (EE-); The Mooche/Mood Indigo HMV B6354 
(EE-); That Lindy Hop/Mississippi Dry HMV B6355 (E+); Black and Tan 
Fantasy/Dicty Glide HMV B6356 (E). Gradings shown in brackets. Album is 
E-slightly torn spine.

Also part of the auction is a 3.5-inch Imperial promo 78 featuring Jack
