According to Vladimir Simosko who wrote Artie Shaw's bio and discography
marked by authorization and constant
meetings with Shaw to validate all info, the last record session in which
Shaw played was the June 1954 Gramercy Five
date issued on Clef MGC-630. Eight tunes in all, several with more than one
issued take.
Shaw stated that there remained considerable material from this and a March
1954 session that has never been issued,
Shaw did conduct (conduct only) a large orchestra for a November 21, 1955
session for Decca DL 8309.
There were four tunes in all "Long Ago and Far Away", "I Remember You",
"More Than You Know", and"My Funny Valentine"
Mostly strings with a french horn and a few reeds.
He never recorded again. There was a brief Australian tour in late July 1954
with a pick-up group after which Shaw ceased performing on
clarinet.

All above info including several brief qoutes from..... "Artie Shaw- A
Musical Biography and Discography. Foreword by Artie Shaw."
by Valdimir Simosko.
