Thanks! That is good information. The original Emerson record (10313) has the same 2 tunes as this record with matrix numbers matching this label. However, the matrix on the dead wax does not match the label on this side, it says 2469A. The flip side-Kohala March-matrix numbers all match, labels and on the dead wax. So, 1 side is a later electrical recording of the same song and the other side is the original acoustic recording.
Now all I have to do is find the origin of the 2469A matrix to figure out when it was recorded.
Thanks! CDB

41512 would be an early Emerson matrix number (some early GGs were sourced
from them, so I understand)....no doubt if you look in the dead wax there
will be a very different number.
I have what is Grey Gull 4004, 'Flanagan in a restaurant' b/w 'Flanagan's
married life', both credited to Steve Porter, as an acoustic recording, and
also what is represented as Radiex 4004, etc. The label copy on the Radiex
is taken from the same printing plates as for the earlier GG issue, nothing
changed at all. But the matrix numbers in the dead wax are from much later;
the Radiex disc is electrically recorded.
So if my example is any indication, what you have is a similar item, an
electrical remake of an acoustic recording with the label copy unchanged
from the original.
