[78-L] George Avakian and the 78rpm jazz album

Hi!

George Avakian came to see me perform in New York when I was over 
there a couple of years ago, performing at the Jazz Church on Billy 
Strayhorn's piano. (Now THERE's stress!).

Anyhow, just to confirm it. He's a genuinely lovely man!

However, on the topic of the 78rpm Album (that's why people still 
persist in calling a CD an album), I have one here, where there's 
actually a picture of him on the inside of one of the covers...as a 
yojung man, of-course!
