[78-L] Auction Sticker Shock

For once I'm curious about who the bidders are and where they live...is
there still a big demand in Japan for this kind of stuff..at what seem to me
to be high prices?

But high prices today can look pretty good tomorrow. I recall trying to buy
a first edition of The Great Gatsby in a dust jacket back in 1977 for $1600,
wondering if that was "too much money." I missed it...and a few years ago
that same nice copy sold for $125,000. I'm not saying records have or will
appreciate like that (so Mr. Barr don't jump on me) but you never know what
the future will bring for such things.
