It is entirely possible that Columbia issued a DJ only 45 of an edited
version of "Bitches Brew." I don't have the relevant box that Columbia
issued of these sessions which would certainly list a 45 release.
I can say that Don Ellis' Indian Lady, originally a 6 plus minutes
recording, was also recorded for a 45 with a fade. It was an entirely
different take than the album; this take was issued on CD when "Electric
Bath" was reissued.
