Hello,
 
Within the last three weeks, here in Dorset (Public Auction, a genuine1905 Dog Model - alloy horn, original reproducer etc -  complete apart from the small screw on the reproducer which secures the needle, made one thousand, seven hundred pounds.  Plus a 13% commision fee, plus Value Added Tax.
 
So around Two Thousand Pounds in all.

Using measuringworth.com calculators,  16s 6d in 1907 would be worth, in 
2008:

£65.04 using the retail price index
£78.88 using the GDP deflator
£339.21 using the average earnings
£401.61 using the per capita GDP
£563.26 using the share of GDP

I wonder what it would cost a US or UK factory to 'crank out' similar 
machines, today
