This past Sunday on my "Forward into the Past" show (shameless plug: 2 to 5 each Sunday afternoon, Pacific Time, over http://www.kspc.org and KSPC-FM 88.7 in the Los Angeles area), I played a couple of Art Van Damme cuts (including his composition, "Let Yourself Down," which is a sequel of sorts to the Kern-Fields "Pick Yourself Up") and read a brief biography of him. I understand he worked with the Ben Bernie orchestra in the late '30s but don't know of any commercial recordings he may have made with the ol' maestro.
I also played some soundtrack material by Kathryn Grayson; I don't know if she made any commercial records beyond the MGM releases which were dubbed from film soundtracks. I have four LPs, issued in the '70s, which are taken from a variety of sources, likely from her private collection.
