Yeah, I wouldn't touch this with a ten foot pole without a whole stack of documentary proof dated 1944. Who writes their name in a jacket they're borrowing for one night?

http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-GLENN-MILLERS-U-S-A-A-F-DRESS-UNIFORM-TUNIC-HAT_W0QQitemZ170449205509

Somebody wrote Miller's name on both items. Doubtful he'd have done it, if
they were borrowed.
He looked slender in every photo I've seen, so 42-44 was probably roomy
enough .

While this item description from that well-known on line auction site is not
a 78 rpm recording, it DOES contain alot of spin...
"YOU ARE BIDDING ON THE VERY RARE WWII U.S. ARMY AIR FORCE CAPTAIN GLENN
MILLER (THE FAMOUS BAND LEADER ) DRESS UNIFORM TUNIC AND HAT GARANTEED 100%
ORIGINAL JUST LIKE THE DAY HE WORE IT ! ( THESE WERE LONED TO GLENN BY MAJOR
C.E.LEMMON FOR GLENNS LAST PERFORMANCE IN THE UK . AFTER THE SHOW GLENN
RETURNED THE TUNIC AND HAT AND THEN LEFT THE NEXT DAY FOR PARIS FRANCE BUT
HE NEVER MADE IT ! HIS PLANE WHEN DOWN IN THE ENGLISH CHANNEL AND HAS NEVER
BEEN FOUND ! THIS TUNIC AND HAT (WERE BROUGHT BACK FROM THE UK BY GLENNS
CLOSE FREIND COLONEL VINCE RETHMAN , HE FLEW IN 71 MISSIONS IN P-38 OVER
FRANCE ) , ALL IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION COMPLETE WITH ALL WINGS MEDALS BARS
! ALL IN GREAT ORIGINAL CONDITION ! , THE JACKET IS ABOUT SIZE 42 - 44 IS IN
PERFECT CONDITION WITH NO DAMAGE ! THIS IS A ONE OF A KIND FIND !"
Does anyone know GM's size for these items? I suspect he was much more than
a 42-44. I do not know the story on his measurements, but at ~ six feet tall
I think 24 -44 would have been snug...
Comments, class?
Bill
