I actually started my 78 collection when I inherited my father's 300-odd
78's
after his death...mainly because none of my siblings wanted them! My dad
had mainly Tommy Dorsey discs (he was a great fan of Jack Leonard);
however, he also had a dozen or so Boswell Sisters reissues, as well as
the original of the Mills Brothers' "Good-Bye Blues!"
I used to play those 78's when I was about three; we had a large RCA
Victor console with a record player. I'm sure among my half-vast shellac
archives I still have most of my dad's 78's...?!
