I don't. After all, Liza Minelli is the Nancy Sinatra of American
music -- someone who's the daughter of another very famous
and far more talented singer, and whose talent exceeds the
kid's by at least a margin of 100-fold or more.
 
Though Sinatra (or more precisely, Frank Sinatra) is in a class all
by himself as the greatest interpreter of the American songbook
of the last 100 years. And no one else is even close. Though
Judy Garland would probably get the nod (or at least my nod) as
his counterpart on the female side of the aisle, while Liza Minelli
(and for that matter, Nancy Sinatra) would never hit the radar screen.

A couple of years ago she had been interviewed on one of the Times Square New Year's Eve telecasts and then at midnight, right after 30 seconds of Guy Lombago, the city's PA burst out with Sinatra while the camera could even see the Winter Garden's marquee where Liza's show was playing.  I thought that Sinatra had proclaimed that Chicago was his kind of town.  At least Liza is loyal.

After about 1950, Frank was based more or less in Los Angeles. At least his last non-Duets album was L.A. is My Lady, recorded in 1986. You never hear that song.
