And once again you prove your narrow North American perspective. The 
world outside Europe happens to include South America, where European 
recordings in Spanish and Italian, of tradition, sell very well, of 
Asia, where European recordings - not only in English - have been both 
issued and sold since the turn of the last century - etc.
If your definition of a World Wide Hit has to include the United States 
and Canada, so be it. Perhaps it suffices with the US and Canada only?
