Unfortunately, I only get the 78L digests and hence am usually one step behind everyone else.  While I was writing my most recent offering, MB wrote the above.

What a perfect way to describe what I've been trying to say, using far fewer words!!

  Forgive me, Michael, but in the future, whenever I'm trying to describe this process, the phrase "there is one NON-variable in the system: the shape of  the cutting stylus" will be part of my description.  (But you can be assured I will always give you credit for that observation.)
