[78-L] Copyright Criminal documentary on tonight

There is a documentary about the sound recording copyright problem on
PBS tonight, Tuesday, but check your listings.  It is called "Copyright
Criminals" and is in the Independent Lens series.  Leah and I saw it a
few months ago at Film Forum with a discussions session with the
director and participants afterward.  Although it is mostly about
sampling in urban music, there are a lot of basics included.  It doesn't
go back much in history, and in talking with the director he does know
about such things as sampling in electonic music like Stockhausen, and
interpolations in jazz, but didn't have the time to include everything
in one hour.  It's on at 10 PM in NYC but there might be later airings
in other areas.
