[78-L] Funny town names...

I think there are several New BER-lins in the US.  We have one here in 
Wisconsin and the name is, as was suggested by someone else here, a 
remnant of WWI.  Nobody wanted any connection with Germany during that 
time and so some towns changed their names completely.  But for the many 
New Ber-LINS in the US it was simply easier to change the 
pronunciation.  At least that's how it happened for the town in 
Wisconsin and I'm betting its the same for the other New BER-lins as well.

And to keep this on topic, residents of every one of the those towns 
back then listened to 78s!
