How about FUNNY PLACES & UNIVERSITIES!
Chalk one up for PDQ Bach. He broadcast from the University of Southern
North Dakota at Hoople, ND. During his radio broadcast, one side of the
barn blew out. We got sounds from cows, chickens, etc. I think there was
an ad for some cold medicine. The winner of "name that tune" by PDQ Bach,
got the complete works of Vivaldi on hundreds of "convenient 45 rpm discs."

There is a Hoople, North Dakota, but no U. of Southern ND. There is a U. of
ND at Grand Forks, and a ND State U at Fargo.

South Dakota has some funny and different-named towns...
    Peever
    Athol
    Winner (and Gwinner, ND)
    Pierre (pronounced Peer)
Beresford (Remember "The Millionaire" on TV? The writers of this show
took Beresford and used it as part of the name of the millionaire: J.
Beresford Tipton.)
    Bath
    Bonesteel
...and a whole bunch of ghost towns. At one time my town of Aberdeen
had 4 passenger railroads intersecting at our "Hub City." Now South Dakota
is the only state in the US that has no rail passenger service. We have
intercity bus service 3 times a week, and 3 daily flights. Lots of cars!
