At one time, Radio Spirits offered a search service, from a huge list of
programs. I asked for Chamber Music Society of Lower Basin Street and a couple
of other programs..they replied by cancelling the service and either refunding
or not charging me the five dollar search charge.
Once in a while they forget to excise the comedy from a jazz program. I have
disc of Norge Kitchen Committee programs, spotlighting Bunny Berigan, but also
containing sketches by Howard and Shelton, one of which is the precursor of
Abbott & Costello's "Who's On First".
Did any Audio Rarities/Audio Archives issue ever have liner notes, come to
think of it? Maybe some did later, when Audio Fidelity was still keeping them
in print in the 60s.

Similar "Bounding Broomstick" routines also show up on the Jazz Hour CD. Benchley in fact gets star billing on the program and Dick Todd does one vocal with Shaw. The rest of the Audio Rarities album is probably culled from the same series, of which the first rehearsal was transcribed November 25, 1938. I wonder if Graham Newton could identify the snippet of library music used on "Swing Music"?
