IMHO he does it beautifully on "Flamingo" with Kenton (rec. Oct. 1941).
Dorris sings on "Do Nothin' Till You Hear From Me" on Capitol 145, and, of 
course, is featured as tenor saxophonist on several other Kenton recordings.
