After well over a decade's experience with e-mail...and any number
of MISadventures...there is ONE vital reality in human communication!
We DO NOT communicate solely through words...typed, written or
otherwise impersonal! An IMPORTANT part of our communication
is expressed in actions...including tones of voice!

I always use the same example: let's say you walk into an imbibery and
there's an old friend! His first words will very likely be, "<name>, you
SOB! What are you up to?!"

Then, a bit later, you walk into the same joint...but now accompanied
by your old friend's wife! His remarks are now, <name>, you SOB!
WHAT are you up to?!" but with DIFFERENT facial expressions,
actions and gestures.

Note the words are exactly identical when written out...but NOT as
spoken...?!
