[78-L] ARSC Conference 2010 -- Call for Presentations -- Deadline Reminder

Wasn't it a Victor record scout who supposedly visited New Orleans in the
1910s looking for talent and sent back the message "there is no jazz in New
Orleans"?

Some of us were down there in October and the place is really great, dl
is right about that. Not only the music, and the sights, but the food was
fabulous. They've really made an effort to make it visitor-friendly post
Katrina.

And presentations are welcome on all recording-related subjects, in any genre of music or speech. That's the
ARSC gumbo.

So if you're thinking of heading south in May, get your proposals in. The
d/l (that's deadline) is January 4th.

discovered in a New York basement in
1910 by Al Jolson and that it all sounded
like Bob Crosby.

This ought
to be a great location.
