[78-L] The Christmas Songs

Fats Waller's "Swingin' Them Jingle Bells" is great, hot, swinging stuff. We mustn't forget "Christmas Dragnet" by Stan Freberg, "Christmas Time Blues" by Casey Bill Weldon, and something I heard a high school choir do last week: "The Twelve Days After Christmas." In this song, we find out what happened to all those annoying, exotic gifts - the French hens got turned into chicken soup, the pear tree got torched, the five golden rings turned green, etc.
