[78-L] They are practically Giving away the Vitaphone DVD set!

I started watching mine today. A lot of great stuff...and, a good deal of
those anachronistic vaudeville turns and comic patter by ephemeral notables
of the day(1932-1935). Boy we were even more naive and gullible back
then..if that's possible. CORNY!
But there are six discs and Johnny Marvin, Boswell Sisters, Kate Smith,
Smith Ballew, Sylvia Froos, Ben Pollack, Dolly Dawn, Red Nichols, Eddie
Duchin,
Cliff Edwards, The Casa Loma, Johnny Green, Roger Wolfe Kahn (with a glum
Artie Shaw in the reed section), Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys, Spade
Coley, King of Western Swing (that's what it sez) Ozzie Nelson (AAARGH)
Freddie Rich, some of the usual suspect Swing era big bands and dozens of
other big and fleeting names do their Vitaphone schticks.
I'm not sorry I bought it but the name of the set "Big Band Jazz and Swing"
is misleading and I don't believe that it was an accident or oversight..
