"I Love A Mystery" featuring Jack, Doc and Reggie, used Valse Triest (sic)
as it's theme song. It was popularized as "Midnight Time," and was recorded
by the Three Suns. I forget whether it was on the Hit or the Majestic label

Subject: [78-L] Radio-influenced recordings
There was a question earlier about radio culture seeping into recordings of
the day, like Harry James' "Life can be beautiful", etc. The answers mostly
involved the song titles.
I'm interested in other manifestations, like Dinah Shore and Dick Todd
duetting on Victor because they were both on NBC's "Chamber Music Society Of
Lower Basin Street".
And Perry Como recorded with the Satisfiers/Satisfyers, whom I presume were
the backing group on his long-running radio show sponsored by Chesterfield
cigarettes ("They satisfy!").
And to stretch it a bit, I'm convinced that future duetters Roy Rogers and
Dale Evans met on the Edgar Bergen show, the year that Dale was the resident
vocalist (1942/43). They didn't appear in pictures together until 1944, and
didn't formalize their relationship until 1947.
