[78-L] Campus Classics

I just picked up Capitol album BD 58, "Campus Classics"..8 sides by 8 groups or 
artists, they being Nat King Cole, Stan Kenton/June Christy, The Pied Pipers, 
Johnny Mercer, Ella Mae Morse, The Dinning Sisters, Benny Goodman and Paul 
Weston/Matt Dennis. Unrelated performers, unrelated songs (not by a single 
composer) except for being cool and hep in 1947. I wonder if this was one of 
the earliest "sampler" albums?
