[78-L] Poor self-archivists

I'm trying to catalogue Doc Williams who seems to have recorded himself and others at his own studio in the 1950's. I notice a sketchy matrix numbering system whereby the matrix is determined by the anticipated label/catalogue #. It seems odd, but I guess it works for him.
While I was sorting thru this, James Brown, the hardest working person in show business, came on the radio with an X-X-Xmas tune. I recalled that he had lost some masters, or at least the original elements that comprised the masters, when his studio caught fire. (c. 1996? I can't find a reference to confirm this.)
So my question to you is, which musical artist is your candidate for worst self-archivist of their own work?
