[78-L] Weems' ongoing Heartaches

I'm not familiar with Weems' Victor recording;I have the one of a Black and Gold Decca.

I'd like to know the "real" story about it as well.  I know one thing...I 
first heard the record when I was no more than four or five and it totally 
hooked me...it is still a great "pick-me-up" to listen to it.  I like the 
original version,  and I'm pretty sure that the "hit" Victor in the late 40s 
was that one reissued,  although I've heard another version from Victor 
which is clearly a remake.

Looking forward to info from anyone who knows "The Rest of the Story.
