Victor almost NEVER put matrix numbers on their records (there are a few
exceptions...1927-28
discs, post-1951 US discs, and a few Red Seal issues!)...but they put take
numbers on all their
1909-1951 records. These are stamped at the 9:00 position...!
A handful of Canadian 1908-1911 Victors will show m# & take data "under the
label."
Victor apparently "hand-wrote" this data in the label area of their masters;
the info was
removed by the "label-recessing" process...which was NOT used in Canada
until
around 1912...?!
