Yes I say - go for it. We could have Ryan prepare the information for the Kiosk information. But I think we should also consider the permenant memorialized and inscribed bouquet holder that will at least give his name, date of birth and death at the grave site. Since Ryan knows the surviving heir (Niece), who could contact her with the idea and see if she agrees.This should be done, even though these options do not require the permission of the heirs. It appears if we go with these two options, we do not need the permission of the owner of the grave, we only need that if we change the monument itself. It appears that the total cost here would be $810.00 if we go with both options. The question is, do we have enough interest here to get the job done. We would need only 16 individuals willing to donate a little over 50 dollars each or 30 people at 27 dollars each. We would need to put someone in charge of this, and accumulate the funds, make out the paper work and follow this through. The Question is : Is there enough interest to get the ball rolling. We would need some kind of Consensus. I wonder if it would be best to get some larger organization involve in spear heading this drive, like say MAPS.

I am happy to learn of your interest in our cemetery and in the interment of Mr. Murray. As a findagrave user as well -- I must visit the site and see the memorial for myself. 

The cemetery monument containing the surname only is/was a common practice years ago here in this cemetery as well as many other cemeteries. It speaks to an era unlike no other in history 
where American culture focused more so on the family and faith rather than the individual. There are many other monuments like that here in our cemetery. 

Memorializing, thus honoring the individual is a resurgance in our pop culture. People do love and celebrate the life of each person. 

To change the monument would require the written consent of the original owner (if deceased) those who possess the legal right of interment for this lot. The cemetery will not 
contact them for an inquiry on your behalf due to their own privacy concerns. 

For the fans I have two suggestions for consideration: 


To honor him I'd recommend a kiosk memorial http://www.holyroodcemetery.org/KioskMemorialProgram.pdf This can tell his full story for all to learn about him for many years to come. 
We have two kiosk stations here at Holy Rood Cemetery to view the memorial. 

Another suggested is a memorialized inscribed bronze bouquet holder placed at the gravesite. A plaque or a second monument would not be permitted in accordance with cemetery regulations.
