Not OT..Alex made a 78 2 or 3 years ago and is also a collector. We haven't
heard anything from her for a while, and here's why.

Hi Folks,
Goodness but it's been a while since we spoke!
...and there's a reason for that:
Nearly one year ago, Alex Pangman received a double lung transplant! Yes, you
read that right, the classic jazz chanteuse got "the gift of life" when a set
of healthy lungs became available to replace those of Alex, which had been
destroyed from the lung disease she was born with.
Now, on the anniversary of her successful transplant surgery, Alex is
celebrating: NEW LUNGS, NEW RECORD!
Please come out on November 3rd, 2009 to Toronto's LULA LOUNGE for the joint
celebration of this anniversary and the birth of a new recording.
For sometime now Alex has been involved in a country (and western!) side
project with a band called LICKIN' GOOD FRIED who welcome their debut CD album
into the world on Nov 3 and would love for you to be there. Afraid of country
music? Louis Armstrong wasn't: he recorded with Jimmy Rodgers after all! Come
on down with an open mind. You'll hear great lyrics about love and loss (not so
very different from jazz lyrics in this respect) and you'll hear hot
improvising soloists. Promise. (www.lickingoodfried.com)
Also,
Alex And Her Alleycats will play an opening set at 8:30pm featuring the jazz
lions you've come to know and love, while LICKIN' GOOD FRIED take the stage at
9:30 pm.
Tickets are $15
CDs are $15
So come on down and take part in this historic celebration. At the very least,
come on down and hear for yourself how Organ Donation works.
Meow :-)
