I thought the Lowell Thomas blooper occurred when he was describing something done by President Truman or Fred Waring.......can you provide a link to the incident you mentionned?

The Laughing Record, as well as many other contrived 'bloopers' on 78, are funny once...that's all.  But the funniest laughing record I know is from one of the blooper 45s or LPs that came out in the '50s.  It featured Lowell Thomas, breaking down in total laughter at hearing about a woman that reportedly could control the aurora borealis by shaking a bed sheet in her backyard.  Thomas giggles, then guffaws, then breaks out in uncontrollable laughter until the end of the show.  The announcer is laughing, too, as he closes off the newscast.  Funny every time I hear it!
