Well, we can only hope that somebody at BMG/Sony/Whomever realized the
CULTURAL value
of their audio archive (in spite of the harsh reality that in the 21st
century MEANINGFUL values
MUST be prefixed by $ [or other symbol for currency?!] and followed by
numbers well beyond
the comprehension of us hapless peasants?!) and decided to, first, preserve
it...and, second,
make it available in digital form...?!

After all, they don't seem to be having much luck with their present-day
artists/music (who, from
what I have heard, well deserve their rapid descent into obscurity...?!)...!
What I HOPE to do
(if I ever receive my US Social Security...?!) is to copy some of my
half-vast shellac archive to
my hard drive, and then "burn" that to CD-R's and flog the result. Since I'm
here in Canada,
this is (so far?!) entirely legal...it would be any US buyers who were
breaking copyright law,
since the records there are all officially protected until 1/1/2067 (subject
to change...!)...!

Meaning streaming from the cave(?!)...or streaming the contents of "metal
parts"
STORED in the cave? Seems to me that caves are quite a bit too damp for such
storage, unless one invests MANY simoleons on de-humidifiers?! OTOH, seems
like an ideal place to store the stamper(s) for "The Death Of Floyd
Collins"...?!
