Here the question would seem to be whether 45's (noted for "picture sleeves"
which are HIGHLY collectible!) introduced the idea...?! Off-hand, the first
78 "picture sleeve" seems to have been issued to promote Autry's 
"Rudolph"...
I've seen number of those.

Note that RCA issued a couple of Bluebird "Album sets" in heavy paper
folders rather than the "albums" used on Victor/RCA...!
