Columbia continued to press records in their catalog as long as customers
bought them; they didn't have (AFAIK) a program like Victor's, whereby
acoustic records were remade electrically if they were still in demand.
These
later pressings used whatever labels (and shellac colours?) were in use when
they were being pressed. As a result, one can encounter "Viva-Tonal"
pressings of old acoustic recordings, still under their old A-* catalog
numbers!
