HANS,
THANKS for confirming the existence of these POST 1948 Majestic sides.
One Billboard article states; "The first release on the Majestic label
includes seven pop disks eight country and Western platters, three in the
rhythm and blues
series and two Mexicana disks. Artists used on the newly issued
records include Johnny Dugan, Ozie Waters, Bob Savage, Larry Noble;
the Don Shaw, George Redman and Sten Ellison orks; Boots Faye, Tex Wallace,
Martha Davis and the Lennon Brothers."
  Another list identifies 78-134.
PLEASE - everyone who has anything in this series send discographic detail
to me, or to the
78discography so the information is available to all.
  Thank you!
Best wishes, Thomas.

Subject: [78-L] MAJESTIC Records questions

I have images of 2 Majestic labels in a 78-100 series: 78-114 & 78-117.
Both described on label as "Country & Western". Mxs in SA-1000/1100 series.
The blue label states: Non-breakable Records.

>>> Does anyone have information about this (1951-53 Majestic) or listings
of
the records issued?
In particular, records in a 100 series, designated 78-1xx....???

-----
Majestic basically took over Obie's HIT label and extended its 1xxx and
7xxx series(es). I have NEVER heard of/encountered a 1xx series; however,
there were other seies, most notably a 12xxx, issued during Majestic's 1945-
1948 existence. Note that the "discographitazion" of the post WWII period
is minimal...
