There is one VERY outside possibility...?! Pathe had electric recordings cut
by
the Compo Company in 1926 (IIRC)...also, Compo was recording electrically
in late 1924, and first issued their electric recordings in January, 1925.
The
Compo ledgers were "rescued" by Jim Kidd, and arenow in the possession
of the National Library Of Canada. I don't think they are yet available via
the
Internet (the NLC is VERY worried about copyright issues concerning this
material?!)...however, you might be able to get some assistance from their
music librarian, Richard Green, as to whether Compo recorded the California
Ramblers in late 1924...?! The NLC does have a web site!
