i wish i could hear that NOW. he is probably the last of a kind, i am quite saddened by the news, i do not think any of the other old timers from the pre swing era are still around - the jacques butler's,the franz jackson's , the huey long's and pat jenkins' (jenkins did not record until 1938 if i am not mistaken)- now lawrence. is anyone left who recorded before the swing era (re: a european musician svend assusmen did record in 1935, does that count?)?
