This may not be a well known fact, but issues of Billboard from 1942 
onward available and searchable on line at Google Books

Go to:

http://books.google.com/advanced_book_search

and fill out the form specifying Content: Magazines and Title: 
Billboard, plus anything else you may like to search on. Google will 
then go and scour the archive and return pages to you. Note that this 
include adverts too. For example, a search for the aforementioned 
Bulawayo Sweet Rhythms Band, will show you lots of good stuff 
including this ad for Skokiaan b/w In The Mood.
