Dear all,
Since the beginning of 1999 I write about my passion for 78's on my website www.radionostalgia.nl. It is called Jan's 78 RPM Record Warehouse and it is based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Every now and then, when I have sufficient time, I build a new 'floor' for this website.
At the moment I am working at the tenth floor and one of the records I want to include is the more than 2 millionseller 'On the good ship Lollipop', recorded by Mae Questel (or Questal, as it is written on the label of the British release). As you all probably know was Mae the voice of Betty Boop and Olive Oyl, a.o.
Although there were more than 2 million copies sold, I am not able to find details on the recording date and place and I am wondering if one of you will be helpfull in this matter. I only found that it was Victor Young's orchestra which had quite some interesting musicians in the early 30's.
So I would be very greatful if somebody could help me out.
Thank you in advance,
Jan Hovers
Amsterdam, The Netherlands
