  78's will definitely outlive most Cylinders: wax is breakable and 
prone to mildew. Celluloid cylinders can crack through shrinkage of the 
surface and expansion of the core- plus Celluloid isn't the most stable 
of materials. 78's have already proven to be more durable than magnetic 
tape.
