Teresa Brewer channeling Jimmy Boyd is Molly Bee! Unfortunately all
three of them are now all gone, Molly and Jimmy within weeks of each
other. I met Molly a couple of years ago at Friends of Old Time Radio,
and she was a wonderful, friendly, and funny gal. She told the story
how when she was over at his house playing, Jimmy Boyd taught her "I Saw
Mommy Kissing Santa Claws" which he had just recorded and not yet
released, and that she went over to Capitol and recorded it and they
rush released it BEFORE Columbia could get Jimmy's out. Molly had a
crush on Jimmy, and I had a crush on Molly. There is a Pinky Lee DVD
out that has several shows where Molly is about 15 or 16 and a regular
on his show, and he cuddles up to her as she starts to sing in one of
the shows.

But wouldn't you love to be Pinky! (I was trying to see if that song
was posted, but the posting had her song from the other show on the DVD,
and Pinky doesn't lay a paw on her on this one. But she was some
looker, just like Judy Tyler and Mary Hartline were. No wonder our dads
watched some of our kids shows along with us!)

Decades ago it used to be said that somewhere in the world at all times
someone was playing a Bing Crosby record. That might no longer be true
(to be replaced a few weeks ago by MJ) but it probably can be said that
at at all times somewhere in the world at least two people are playing
real stinkers of a record. So chances are it has happened among the
78ellers many times!

P.S. (or hand me Mary Hartline, Judy Tyler, or Molly Bee!)
