You've hit another of my pet hates..style over content. I kept wanting to 
through Doctorow's "Ragtime" through the window (and Doctorow would be the next 
thing to be flung). Movie OK, book drove me nuts.

As for dialect written into songs, somebody take Oscar Hammerstein out and 
throttle him. I don't care if he's dead. Er, daid.
