yet a further generation removed...from the Perfect-et-al originals! Back
in the applicable days, a/the band was assembled in a recording studio
and given the task of playing a stock-arrangement version of a "hit" or
"hit-to-be" without any audible mistakes! If they succeeded (they usually
did!) that master was used for not only ALL ARC labels...but also ALL
labels (usually in different countries?!) that wanted to include the tune
in their catalog!

Matrices/stampers of  "alternate takes" were primarily a (RCA) Victor
phenomenon; most other labels didn't bother with numerous tries at
"perfection" (nor did Victor after 1931!?).
