When did Jack Shilkret record for Crown? Now that Sony owns the American Record Company sides from 1932 onward, has it been reissued?Does Rust or the Jepsen Jazz
Discograghies list more on it in terms of personnel? As I am new to this site,I'm the one
who some musicians come to regarding personnel. As I've never mentioned this since I
joined this site,I've collected 78s and other recordings for nearly fifty years.Since I was a
kid, people were giving me their old records then I later on added some 45s and LPs to my
collection.Crown Records I am somewhat familiar with by way of some sides Jack Teaga-
rden cut for the label by way of an old EPIC multiple record set called "King of the Blues
Trombone" which I bought some 25 years ago.I'm 58 years old by the way.

Well I had to go play it to see what Julian meant. I hear the two-in-a-bar
from the bass, but don't find it distracting or that it makes a problem for
the rest of rhythm section. Guitar, drums and especially piano (Thornhill
or who?) keep things going in a very smooth manner. It's propulsive enough
even without a strong and steady bass line.
Julian, do you have it on an English pressing like maybe a Rex or some
such? It took me a long time to find a real clean Melotone which played
well. It has been one of my favorite records since I first heard it in
1967.
