Labels of Co 41961-F are shown at http://bigband-smallband.blogspot.com/
Blue labels with details in Japanese only.
They have the Columbia logo in upper case, and thus belong to
Sherman & Nauck's type VIII.B, introduced 1936.
But 2 earlier features are present: the text "Electrical Process" and
the 2-line patent text at the lower rim. These features are absent in the
Columbia label types shown by S&N for 1933-1936 and thus it is strange
that they are reintroduced on this later blue Columbia label.
Possibly a reissue, and retaining the original reference to the "Electrical Process"?
Any comments appreciated.
The 41961-F labels state: (Printed in Japan) & NIPPONOPHONE RECORDING.
There is a 2nd release(?) number, 30502 at 9h.
I have similar label pictures of Co 41974-F, with additional nr 69752.
Is anything known about these added numbers?
Main question is: What was the intention of these "Japanese" issues.
Were they produced in Japan (note the 'Printed in Japan' statement) for the Japanese?
Or for export to the USA?
Or were labels plus masters sent from Japan to the US and pressed on the West Coast?

If your photos that are posted were a little clearer, or up closer i could try to read them.
Maybe there is some information on the web. I have access to some listings of
Japanese records, by title, and artest.
