Trumpeter Red Rodney once recorded (Prestige, 1951) with a rhythm 
section, whose players were all Phil (Raphael, Hill & Leshin).

Jimmy Giuffre at one time had a trio consisting of himself, Jim Atlas  & 
Jim Hall! Can you imagine the studio conversation:

"Jim, can you play a little quieter?"

"I am playing quieter!"

Anyone recall similar examples?
