Indeed, who is L. A. Salaam?  The composer credit, Cleo Henry, was a  
pseudonym that Miles Davis used on this recording only.  Is Salaam a  
pseudonym for Kenny Clarke or Max Roach?

So it appears that Salaam was a pseudonym for Clarke.  Question  
answered.
