What was funny about the "Mama" commercials was the "poetic license" CBS took with the Maxwell House coffee commericals. They had Peggy Wood holding up a Maxwell House coffee vacuum sealed can, definitely not around in 1912!
I met Ms Wood once at the Sharon CT Playhouse. She was well-removed from the Mama persona. Quite a grande dame!
BTW Miss Wood's voice in "Sound Of Music" was dubbed, I think by Marnie Nixon.

"I remember the first time I tasted Moxie. It's a sipping soda. If you drink it, it tastes like carbonated cough medicine, but if you sip, you may get cola, root beer, cinnamon, vanilla, licorice, black cherry--and the first time I got them ALL!" --John Neese
