[78-L] Presto cutter

there was a machine called tefichord, which recorded by cutting on film. arnold bake, dutch ethnomusicologist, recorded several hundred hours of indian music. it sounds better than cylinders, and on an loop made from about three meters of film, record fairly long takes as well.

The polycarbonate CDs are made of doesn't cut well enough to make
anything much beyond a hissy mess.  At least that's what resulted in
my goofing around with a Wilcox-Gay Recordette III and some blown
recordable CDs....
